Growing People

IS OUR PASSION

The Leadership Training Initiative was founded in response to the conspicuous lack of diversity, equity and inclusion training that addresses the whole person.

LTI believes organizational change happens on two basic levels. First, systemic changes in the organizational values (vision statement, values, policy) are expressed and institutional buy-in begins in outward facing efforts.

This often happens due to external pressures (pain points) that causes a reassessment. It can also occur when an individual in leadership shifts their personal values and begins asking how their organization can shift to be more inclusive and equitable.

Second, individuals realize their personal need for reassessment in order to align with the institutional stated values. People may come to the conclusion themselves that change needs to happen (internal) or pressure from outside to change (external).

We believe that systems are built on people and their beliefs and experiences. To change the systems that marginalize and exclude we must look at the systems AND the people participating in them.  By engaging people as students of themselves first, our work provides team members with the platform, language, and feedback they need for effective collaboration and incremental changes in their understanding.

Dissecting the organizational “story lines”, unsaid rules and the company’s actual values is a delicate mission. It takes cutting through what we “wish we were” and taking the time to investigate who we actually are with a critical eye. It takes courage to do this work, but we are here each step of the way. If you have a teachable disposition, you’ll love the leader you can become when you add the support of the trained professionals at the Leadership Training Initiative.

Without courage we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.

Core Values

Core values are the essence of a company and an individual. The values a company holds shape the vision, culture, outcomes, and trajectory of any organization. We connect you back to the things that really matter to ensure that the outcomes you obtain are in integrity with who you are.

Our Core Values color everything we do at LTI. They are the central beliefs that drive who we are, the choices we make and how we view the world.

Accountability

Effective leaders regularly seek feedback and guidance from trusted sources. They listen to understand and lean into difficult spaces with people with a growth mindset.

Interdependance

Effective leaders are effective collaborators, aware of the rich resources present in their organizations and communities. They know they increase their impact when they lift others and humbly accept support themselves.

Empowerment

Effective leaders recognize the importance of bringing out the best in others. They work to empower the voices that are most often silenced.

Leverage

Effective leaders know how to use the positive potential of change, knowing that seemingly small actions can have significant impact. They know the small, intentional steps eventually can lead to the desired future.
